Patient Account Representative

Reports To: Department Supervisor

Position Objective:The AR representative is responsible for reconciling discrepancies and collecting on delinquent accounts.Presents a positive image to supporting staff members and patients at all times. 

Position Requirements:High School Diploma or Associates Degree in related field, previous experience in healthcare collection/billing preferred, excellent communication and computer skills, good working knowledge of medical terminology CPT and ICD-10 coding. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, patients and general public. Knowledge of state laws and statutes.Understanding of legal process involving medical claims.Understanding and react to developing trends in healthcare reimbursements.

Detailed Responsibilities: 

Physical/Mental Demands: High levels of mental concentration are required.Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and subject to interruptions.Physical effort requires sitting for long periods of time and repetitive movements consisting of reaching with hands and arms; moderate typing on computer.Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to speak and hear are required.
