Clinical Assistant
Reports To: Clinical Director
Position Objective:Manage and perform administrative and clinical tasks for your assigned physician at the direction of the Physician, Clinical Management and/or First Assistant.
Position Requirements:Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program outside High School or ARRT registration preferred but not necessary.Strong computer and interpersonal communication skills required.Experience preferred.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of EHR and EPM systems
- Document and update patient information in EHR system
- Update patient medication list.
- Organize daily work schedules and respond to emergencies as necessary.
- Prepare patient for examination, instruct patient on procedure, and assist physician during exam.
- Perform clinical task:remove casts/dressing, remove sutures/staples, and prepare injections.
- Order radiology studies in EHR.
- Generate necessary forms for scheduling tests, surgery, Physical therapy, work/gym excuses, scripts for medication and patient instructions.
- Fit patients with durable medical equipment and generate prescriptions as prescribed by physician.
- Store durable medical equipment
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Perform all wok duties as assigned to meet the department needs.
- Interact professionally with patients, physicians and co-workers.
- Follow pre-established guidelines and policies to perform the functions of the job.
- Working knowledge of other FSO departments to obtain quality care for all patients.
Physical/Mental Demands:Physical effort requires constant standing and walking, frequent reaching and bending, kneeling, squatting, maneuvering and constant positioning of patients (lifting and carrying).Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to speak and hear are required.
